25th Annual Dallas Spring Nationals

The 25th Annual Dallas Spring Nationals was held at the Sam Pack Museum in nearby Farmers Branch. It was a great opportunity to go

through the Sam Pack Museum, socialize, and go home with a four foot trophy. We had eight members and six Cougars. Alan Easley,

Gene Mullenberg, Dwain Barker, Ken Stovall, Dan McKeithen, Kevin Hyatt, Jimmy Austin, and Barry Rowe attended the show. First place

winners were Dwain Barker ('73 Cougar), Ken Stovall ('68 Cougar), and Kevin Hyatt ('69 Cougar). Class winners were Alan Easley (2001 Bullitt Mustang),

Gene Mullenberg ('67 Cougar), Jimmy Austin ('67 R Code Mustang w/DSO Guatemala), and Barry Rowe (67 Cougar). Congratulations to our members that regularly

show these wonderful examples of our Cougars and make the Lone Star Cougar Club proud in a national venue of some incredible automobiles!

NTMC Cruise Nights

Our May event was  sponsored by the North Texas Mustang Club. Several times a year their club invites a guest club to join for an informal car show and meet and greet at the local Cracker Barrel. It was well attended with eight of our members bringing their rides for food fun and fellowship. Gene Mullenberg, Dwain Barker, Cliff Talley, Joe Valenti, Barry Rowe, Mike Hogue, Ken Stovall, and Kevin Hyatt all had a great weather day with the fifty or so mustangs hosting the event. Both Ken Stovall and Dwain Barker were class winners for their 1968-XR7 and 1973 Convertible, respectively.

Dallas Autorama 2015

Autorama was a huge success again this year.  We  would personally like to thank everyone in the LSCC that had a part in the show by volunteering their time

and/or displaying their cars.  Ken Stovall,  Dwain Barker, Barry Rowe, Richard Bartow, Alan Easley, and Matt Slay. Ryan Jilek-a potential new member and

Daryl Marek-a personal friend of mine also helped out.   A Very Special THANK YOU to Connie Rowe, Gail Easley, Sandy Barker, and Pam Mullenberg.

These ladies assisted in passing out the Class Awards and it worked just like Eileen and Jimmy drew it up!  Flawlessly!  Rumor has it that Dwain and Sandy

were seen smooching when she handed him his award!! *:x lovestruck   Everyone was on time for every shift everyday.  It was awesome!

We had a nice 4 car display in a great location.
Ken Stovall             1968 XR-7                     Best in class
Dwain Barker          1973 convertible           3rd in class
Barry Rowe             1967  GT                      3rd in class
Gene Mullenberg    1969 convertible           class award.
We had a lot of activity at the display and a bunch of folks with Cougars asking car questions and wanting to know about the club.
Time will tell if the conversations will result in new members but it is always great to talk cars.  ~ Gene Mullenberg

State Fair of Texas

The opening day of the State Fair of Texas is one of our favorite events. THE LSCC was the host club for the Classic Car Corral

at the fair this year with over fifteen Mercury Cougars in attendance. The weather was wonderful and members were able to enjoy all

of the exibits and rides that Texas has to offer.

Unite for Troops

E-mail Print PDF

This year, the Lone Star Cougar Club once again chose to support the Unite for Troops organization. Together with Cindy Porter of Porter's Army Navy Store in Irving, the Lone Star Cougar Club gave thanks to our women and men in uniform over seas.  Unite For Troops sends care packages to the troops with items that may make their lives a little easier and days a little brighter. Items such as letters, beef jerky, snacks, lip balm, foot powder, and Christmas ornaments are included in these packages. The Lone Star Cougar Club provided a check for $500 to help cover cost of shipping these care packages to our troops. It's our way of showing our appreciation to them and their families for the sacrifices they make for us each and every day.
