Featuring our favorite car

Back in the 1960's both Ford and Lincoln-Mercury had factory sponsored racing teams.  Dyno Don Nicholson drove first Comets Cyclones and then Cougars to many victories over his factory rivals from Ford.  The 1967-68 seasons were especially memorable for their many Cat-Pony showdowns. In 1968 someone at Ford headquarters decided that it didn't make much sense (at least to them!) to have two name plates from the same company beating each other up every weekend, and this ended factory sponsored racing by Lincoln-Mercury.
Here are some pics of Dyno Don in action, as well as a 1969 Coke promotion, done in conjunction with Car Craft magazine, for a Dyno Don project car, and what that car looks like today.
